CrossSafe delivers results but there’s more to do

Churchlands Primary School, Hale School and Lake Monger Primary School will be among the schools included in a new roving school-zone speed camera program.
It's no coincidence the move follows six months of sustained advocacy from the CrossSafe campaign, born out of a chronic shortage of crossing guards across the Churchlands electorate, an issue Member for Churchlands Basil Zempilas says is being felt right across WA.
“Enforcement-led responses like relocatable cameras have limitations and don't address the structural issues CrossSafe is fighting for; importantly, the ongoing critical shortage of crossing guards, the inflexibility in this program, and a lack of permanent crossing infrastructure,” Mr Zempilas said.
"We need more permanent crossing guards, more permanent crossing infrastructure and more solutions to fix this problem - and we want the State Government on this all the time, not just in and out."
“CrossSafe will keep pushing for the lasting fixes our kids deserve.”
