Students advocating

Basil hosted the Next Generation of young leaders at a special "Breakfast with Baz" event, giving young West Australians a taste of political life from the ground up. Working in teams, attendees explored the issues that matter most to them before rolling up their sleeves to develop policy pitches of their own, tackling everything from cost of living to education and beyond.

The morning built to a highlight for participants: presenting their campaign pitches directly to the Leader of the Opposition. No political experience was required, just ideas and enthusiasm, and Basil says that's exactly the spirit the Liberal Party wants to encourage in its next generation of leaders. With a number of standout pitches on the table, some of these ideas could go on to help shape future Liberal Party (WA) policy. Poof that a good idea and a full plate of breakfast can go a long way.
