Wembley Downs District Fair a huge success all around!

The electorate team attended the annual Wembley Downs District Fair for the first time, meeting hundreds of residents and chatting about local issues throughout the day. The community spirit was on full display, with stalls, entertainment and local groups all coming together to celebrate everything that makes this part of Perth special.

Basil spent the morning handing out packs of basil seeds and crisp local apples kindly provided by The Herdsman, while children gathered at the stall to colour in and take home their creations. The atmosphere was fantastic – families filling the park, neighbours catching up, and community groups sharing updates and ideas about how to make Wembley Downs an even better place to live.

It was a truly successful day, filled with laughter, conversation and connection. The team left with plenty of ideas and feedback from residents to follow up on, and a strong sense of pride in being part of such an engaged local community. The fair proved once again that when locals come together, great things happen — and the team is already looking forward to next year’s event.
