Results from the Rosewood Pearson Survey are in!

Thank you Churchlands!
The results are in from my community survey on the safety of the Rosewood Avenue and Pearson Street intersection in Woodlands.
Thank you to the more than 700 residents who responded, providing valuable feedback and first-hand experience.
94% of respondents rated the intersection as unsafe.
Further insights:
- 97% of drivers experienced difficulty turning and/or a near-miss or collision;
- 82% want change to make the intersection safe;
- 55% favour either traffic lights or a roundabout for a permanent solution focused on safety of all road users.
“Every encounter on this intersection feels like a gamble, a serious fatality is waiting to occur.”
“This would be the worst intersection in the area.”
I presented these survey results to the City of Stirling’s Mayor and CEO last week, advocating for a safer intersection. See the full report here. Watch my thoughts here after meeting with the City.
The city has now committed to further work to identify permanent improvements that will improve safety.
Whilst this has been a long-standing local issue, I am confident that by working together we will deliver a safer outcome for all road users' drivers and most importantly our local community.
