Two school groups welcomed to Parliament this week

Basil welcomed two Churchlands electorate schools to Parliament House this week as they joined in a tour of the historic building and a front-row seat to Question Time.

Students from Kapinara Primary School and Wembley Downs Primary School explored the halls of WA's Parliament, learning about the roles of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council before taking their seats in the public gallery to watch local Members in action.

Basil said it was always a pleasure to see young Western Australians take an interest in how their state is governed.

‍

"There's no better way to understand democracy than to see it firsthand," Basil said. "It was fantastic to have these students in the gallery, and I hope the visit sparked a few future local leaders."
